Trump taps ex-Fox News contributor to join State department

President-elect Trump announced on Friday that former Fox News contributor Tammy Bruce is set to join the State Department later this month.
"It is my great honor to announce that Tammy Bruce will join Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio, nominated for United States Secretary of State, as a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State," he posted on a social media platform.
Bruce worked as a Fox News contributor until last Friday, as confirmed by a network spokesperson. The spokesperson stated that she began working for Fox News in 2005 and is also the author of several books.
A Fox News spokesperson expressed their appreciation for Tammy Bruce's contributions to the company over the past nearly 20 years and wished her well in her future endeavors.
Trump referred to Bruce as a "highly respected political analyst" who had a first-hand understanding of the "lies and fraud of the Radical Left."
Bruce, according to her bio on Fox News, was a registered Democrat up until 2008, and in the 1990s, she was involved in several Democratic political campaigns. "Now, she strives to utilize her experience as a community organizer on the left to identify and combat the progressive agenda," and as a former leader of the National Organization for Women.
With over two decades of commitment to delivering the truth to the American people, Tammy has made a lasting impact as one of our longest serving news contributors. I have every confidence that she will bring the same unwavering conviction and unflinching spirit to her new role as State Department Spokesperson.
Incoming president has named Bruce, along with other former Fox News personalities, to join his team, including Sean Duffy, Pete Hegseth, Janette Nesheiwat and Monica Crowley. Bruce won't require Senate confirmation for his position as part of the administration.
