The Mega Millions jackpot has grown to $42 million ahead of Friday's drawing, as no one matched the top prize on Tuesday.
The after-tax prize is $18.8 million. The winning numbers will be announced on Friday just after 11 p.m. EST.
The jackpot winner received their check on December 27th, causing the jackpot to be reset to $20 million on Tuesday.
There were only four Mega Millions winning jackpots in 2024, marking the lowest number of jackpots won in a single calendar year since the lottery game first started in 2002.
